Tenant FAQs
Answers to your frequently asked questions
-
Can you hold a place before I apply?
At Grit Property Group, we generally require a completed application and the application fee before holding a property. This process ensures fairness and efficiency for all prospective tenants. -
Do I pay first month’s rent and last month’s rent with my security deposit?
Payment structures may vary depending on the property and lease terms. Typically, you will need to pay the first month's rent and a security deposit upfront. The last month's rent is usually not required at the start of the lease term. -
How old do you have to be to apply?
Applicants generally need to be at least 18 years old or of legal age in the jurisdiction where the property is located. This ensures that tenants are legally accountable for the lease terms. -
Is the deposit refundable?
The security deposit is usually refundable, provided there are no damages beyond normal wear and tear and all lease obligations are met. You can expect a refund of your deposit upon move-out if these conditions are satisfied. -
Who needs a cosigner?
A cosigner may be required if an applicant does not meet the income or credit requirements independently. The cosigner will be responsible for fulfilling the lease’s financial obligations if the primary tenant cannot. -
